Creating The Decal:
- Step 1 Find a picture of the patch/symbol that you want to make a decal of. It is best if the picture is in a book where it can be referenced easily.
- Step 2 Open up a Painting program on your computer. I used MSPaint.
- Step 3 Find yet another picture of the patch - this time on the computor. Right click it and click "Copy." Move the picture to your Painting program and "Paste" it. You will probably want to "Zoom In" to the patch for what is next.
- Step 4 The problem with Pixels is that they usually arn't all the same color. Sometimes areas on the patch that are supposed to be white are actually colored grey by the computor. Go over all the areas and "re-draw" the lines in their proper color with the Pencil tool.
- Step 5 Once you are happy with how the patch looks, re-size it to roughly 20 Pixels high (for 15mm). I usually switch from my Paint program to Photoimpression4 to do this.
- Step 6 To print the decals, make sure your printer setting is on Best!! If your printer isn't on Best, than the decal won't look good at all.
- Step 7 If you are not happy with the size of the decal, go back to the computor and re-size it untill you like its size.
Adding the Decal To Your Vehicle:
- Step 1 Cut out the decal from the paper.
- Step 2 Place a pretty small sized dot of Elmers/Wood glue on your tank. I don't suggest using Superglue, as it is hard to position on the model without having the decal stick to your finger. Make sure the dot of glue isn't too huge, or else a blob of glue will form behind the decal.
- Step 3 Using tweasers, place the decal onto the glue. Use your fingers to push the decal onto the glue. Gently smooth it into place. Use an old brush to wipe away extra glue.
- Step 4 Wait till the decal is dry, than varnish the model. I prefer to do the decal before varnishing - as it helps bring out the color in the decal.
